Kodak EasyShare M590 Review

December 1st, 2010

There seems a common theme with beginner-level Kodak cameras, the image quality with the Kodak EasyShare M590 is quite good, and the camera is extremely easy to use. His reaction time left to do, though.

Design

Kodak has created an extremely thin and lightweight camera with the M590. The lens does not go beyond the camera body with the thinness of the camera to be extended. It is a clean, simple design on the front of the camera.

Several buttons are on the back of the camera, each one easy to use shortcuts to different camera functions and menus. These are great for the production of the M590 extremely easy to use. However, the large number of keys has forced Kodak, the size of the LCD, which reduce to 2.7″ diagonal measures. Compared with the size of the camera, the LCD seems even smaller than 2.7 inches.

Two other design features I did not like was the fact that you can charge only the lithium-ion battery in the camera, and that use the M590 only the tiny MicroSD memory cards.

Finally, Kodak has the ability to simply photos and videos from various websites and social networking outlets such as Facebook, Flickr and YouTube included. You can also sort photos in the camera with “tags” which makes it easy for them later. Accessibility is a major advantage of the M590.

Image quality

Most of the time, the image quality with the EasyShare M590 fairly well with outdoor photos. The colors look realistic most of the time. However, you have a few photos in the outdoors, where the autofocus is a bit soft and some where the colors are a little off. You will notice some noise in photos with lots of blue sky, which is disappointing.

With interiors, again focus only seemed a bit soft from time to time. Macro focus mode is really good most of the time, though. The colors on interiors for the M590 seemed a bit boring, but the overall quality of the Interior was a bit above average, at least when compared to other cameras in this price range.

Photos intake were taken with flash and miss in terms of quality – you’ll have some really good flash images, and you will have some useless flash images.

Surprisingly for a sub-$ 200 digital camera of the M590 was the exposure actually very good. Details are not lost in the shadows on sunny days, for example, which is pretty rare with low-priced cameras. Exposure to indoor shots were pretty good.

Performance

Shutter lag is a problem with the M590, especially when shooting in automatic mode. You can fix some problems with missing photos, moving images feature shooting in the “Sports” scene mode, one of 20 scene modes on the EasyShare M590, which help make this camera very easy to use.

Shot to shot delay is a curiosity with the M590. While the previously recorded image is displayed on the LCD, press the shutter button halfway to make camera ready to shoot again, otherwise if you wait, the camera is not ready for a few seconds.

The M590 the lens does not have wide angle capabilities, although a full 5x zoom is good in this price range. The lens moves a little slow due to its enlargement steps. Autofocus can be a little slow at times, which means you need patience.

Conclusion

Although you’ll have some unusable photos with the M590, this camera is certainly not an OK job with the picture quality compared to other sub-$ 200 cameras. The reaction times can be a bit frustrating, though.

If I was forced to choose, I would EasyShare M580 over the M590 choose, although it is slightly more expensive. But if money is to save an important goal, the M590 is a decent cheap camera.

They are an increasingly rare option these days, but cameras with optical viewfinder, add a good degree of versatility, letting you get the shot if you do not manage to save for the LCD in bright sunlight, or the battery by the LCD when accurate framing is not critical. It is a shame that the C182 lacks the ability to price point, but certainly understandable in light of. Images are stored on Secure Digital cards, including the higher capacity SDHC types, or in 16MB of internal memory.

Kodak EasyShare Z950 Digital Camera Review

August 13th, 2010

The 12-megapixel Kodak EasyShare Z950 is an easy-to-use pocket mega zoom camera with an impressive list of advanced features. In addition to a 10x optical zoom lens, it has exposure bracketing, shutter priority, aperture priority, High ISO and high-definition 720p video capture. But while the expectations of the zoom, the video quality does not have.

kodak z950 Kodak EasyShare Z950 Digital Camera Review

The Z950 is Bricky, all-black design will not win any prizes, but it could be a bit retro, it reminded me of my first 35mm camera from childhood. Although the Z950 has a 3-inch LCD, it lacks an optical viewfinder.

Its battery lasted 274 shots in our test. This is a bit short of the 300-plus-shot view, we expect the majority of today’s point-and-shoot cameras, and given that many cameras 500 shots (the point at which we stop counting) to reach a single charge, this camera Battery power is a little underwhelming.

The Z950 has 32MB of internal memory and a SDHC/SD card slot. The Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon optical zoom lens is tight on the wide-angle end, but it offers focal lengths from 35mm to 350mm and aperture f/3.5 to f/4.8.

A nine-position dial on the top of the camera, you can choose modes like Program, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Manual, Movie, and Sports. The Scene mode offers 17 presets, with conditions like snow, beach, self help, and fireworks. A mode, the Kodak Smart Capture calls automatically analyzes the scene and takes the appropriate settings.

Small buttons on the top of the camera give you easy access to flash and timer settings. Kodak claims the Z950 with fast acquisition speeds, the true, if the camera takes is single. But when I tried it several shots at once, I found myself waiting for the camera to stop the processing before I could be a different picture.

The photos had pleasing color and recorded many details. In fact, our laboratory found the Z950 is testing a whole to have in its class to some of the best color reproduction and image quality. Flash exposure quality and sharpness were his weaknesses, but the Z950′s overall image quality still deserves a rating of Very Good.

The Z950 is equipped with high-definition 720p video capture, recorded as MPEG-4 video at 30 frames per second. Unfortunately, the film footage I caught was too nervous and shaky. Colors were made during the filming too, and highlights were blown up completely. Video features are nice, on a point-and-shoot cameras have, but you should only look around the Z950 as a video camera, video camera-if not it’s not a great replacement for a dedicated high-definition camcorder.

As a still camera, Kodak EasyShare Z950 seems, with impressive color quality, razor-sharp images and a powerful 10x optical zoom. It’s a great sub-$ 300 choice for beginners and advanced shooters who would like to experiment with more advanced controls. The only major disappointment was its mediocre image quality.
